Welcome,

The UCC Philosophical Society invites you to join us for the largest
and finest debating competition the Irish circuit has to offer. The
Cork IV 2008 will take place on Friday, October 31st & Saturday,
November 1st. The CAs of the competition will be Mr Derek Lande (CA -
Cork Worlds 2009) and Mr Rory Gillis (DCA - Cork Worlds 2009) with the
tab being run by Mr Bob Nimmo (Tab Director - Cork Worlds 2009).


In addition to the promise of an excellent standard of debating and
adjudication, we offer competitors two fantastic social events,
scrumptious pizza, tasty lunch, our customary sit down Christmas
dinner (it may not be Christmas, but we like to keep popular
traditions alive!) and all the other great touches you've come to
associate with the Cork IV in recent years.


Given that UCC will be hosting this years World Universities Debating
Championships, this year's Cork IV is the perfect opportunity for you
all to familiarise yourselves with Cork and with the people involved,
while at the same time allowing us to give you a sneak peek into some
of our plans for Cork Worlds 2009.
