Brian Hassett

Brian Hassett worked as a computer programmer before beginning a PhD in Maths Physics at UCC. He won the Irish Times Debating Competition during his first year studying Electrical Engineering UCC, at the age of 19.

Competitive Debating Involvement

• Winner: World Universities' Debating Championships Fordham University, 1986 (Partner: Siobhán Lankford).
• Winner: Irish Times Debating Competition, 1984/85 (Partner: David Holland) as a first year Electrical Engineering student at the age of 19.
