The following is a pm from Deirdre Duffy with some interesting info if somebody wants to chase it up.
brendan o'carroll was recsec in the 1980s. i'm thinking 1989 but i'll go check our records and get back to you. and all the committee lists are still in the cupboards upstairs near the toilets in the accom and in all of the announcements made by the society in the cork university record. there're also mentions of names in the quads or quarrymen but they don't have positions attatched. and theres a pamphlet about the history of the society from the 100th session in the boxes on q-1. something's telling me box five but i could be wrong.

derek in q-1 (well before it moved to pouladuff.. cheers wrixon...) there was a pamphlet, i think published for the philosoph's 75th. it's a reprint of the inaugural address to the society (i've forgetten who gave it) called industry and ability all very 19th century stuff about how intelligence without hard work is useless etc. v interesting read, and it's class - he doesn't say 'ladies and gentlemen', he says 'gentlemen'. i was born 100 years too late.

Templates

Guys I really want to see a consistant look and feel for all entried. IE. the same headings should be used to describe all individuals etc.. I've worked on the basis of a template under my own profile. Have a look. Derek Lande. Feel free to edit this page with comments.

I've started adding people to three more categories. Examples can be seen in the first few of the A's. The three are, Honorary Life Members, Current Members, Former Members. People can be in both the Honorary Life Members Category and one of the others.

Also there is a bit of work to be done to set the wiki to alphabetise names by last name. Instructions are in the Help Section.

Questions?

We need to find out whether all Irish Times winners were indeed granted HLM's or is that a more recent trend. It would help us boost our list of HLM's somewhat.
